Creating a Community That Feels Like Sliding into Cozy Slippers

Where Chronic Illness and Trauma Warriors Are Seen

You deserve more than gaslighting and glitter-dusted clichés- the kind that wrap hardship in empty phrases like “Everything happens for a reason,” without naming the real ones: underfunded healthcare, misdiagnosis, or good old-fashioned ableism.

Your story is real, and it matters. This is where real talk meets creative healing—no toxic positivity, no miracle cures, and definitely no one-size-fits-all wellness advice. Just real talk for people navigating chronic illness or trauma, who know that sometimes the best coping mechanisms really are high-quality chocolate and a long nap.

Whether you're facing a fresh diagnosis, celebrating your PhD in medical self-advocacy, or wondering why every family gathering includes someone asking if you've "tried eating better," you've found your people.

I believe in the radical act of taking up space, speaking your truth, and refusing to shrink our pain for the sake of other people's comfort.

Welcome to the club nobody asked to join — where storytelling helps us heal, be seen, and make sense of what tried to break us (and maybe laugh a little along the way).

Hey there, I’m Meagan

Behind every "but you don't look sick" comment and every doctor who said I'd "grow out of it" (spoiler: I'm 56 and still waiting), there's a story. Mine started with learning that sometimes being unseen was safer—a skill that took on new meaning when chronic illness made me disappear in different ways.

Living with POTS means my body acts like a faulty thermostat — overheating, underperforming, and never quite landing in the comfort zone. Add a few other medical mysteries, and you've got my daily reality.

What I've learned in decades of writing is that our hardest chapters often hold our most transformative stories. That's why I'm here—to prove that serious conversations about trauma and chronic illness can absolutely include laughter, chocolate, and stubborn hope.

Chronic illness writer, creative blogger, and rare disease advocate — here's what lights me up:
